Demand for excursion tours to Europe is expected to drop 25.62% in April. Such is the forecast compiled by DSBW’s analysts based on the Excursion Tour Index EXDEX for March of 2014. According to the experts’ findings, the number of search queries for excursion tours to Europe in various online booking systems will amount to 20,172 in April, as opposed to 27,121 in this year’s March.
It is no secret that Russian tourism statistics are far from perfect and can only be described as confounding. For instance, Rosstat puts the number of ‘pure’ tourists who visited Russia in 2012 at a mere 2.57 million, while according to the St. Petersburg authorities’ measurements, 3 million foreigners came to the city during the same year.
Tour operator DSBW presents the Index of Guided Tours ‘EXDEX’ for January 2014 and its forecast for February 2014. We’d like to draw your attention to the fact that EXDEX consists of two indicators – Index of demand for guided tours EXDEX-D and price index of guided tours EXDEX-P.
